DONATION GUIDE

DO NOT SEND IN ANY DONATIONS UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR WINNER EMAIL.


Once bidding ends, it’s time to turn words into action and donate! All auction winners will receive an email confirming their win; if you checked your inbox and spam folder but don’t see it after we send out the emails, let us know. If you’re a proxy bidder, forward the email you receive to the person you were bidding for and CC us so we know who to contact moving forward!

Once we receive proof of donation, we’ll then connect you to your creator. Please wait until you receive the creator–winner connection email to contact your creator. Due to the high volume of donation receipts we receive, it may take a while for us to confirm receipt and for you to receive the connection email. Please be patient and refrain from asking us to confirm whether we got your receipt personally; doing so means that we’ll have less time to process the donations and send the connection emails. You can whitelist our email address to ensure that you won’t miss any emails from us because they were flagged as spam. We’ll always get in touch with someone if we receive a “bounced email” notification.

Winners have until our donation deadline of November 4 at 11:59 PM ET (what time is that for me?) to submit their proof of donation.

DONATION INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Check your creator’s preferred charities on their auction listing. We ask that you respect your creator’s preferences, but you can also choose to donate to one of the other organizations on our organizations list. Your donation(s) must be to one of the charities on our list, or your win will not be counted and the auction winner will be the next-highest bidder. The list also has information on what payment options and currencies each organization allows. 
  • You’re free to donate to local chapters of organizations. For example, Doctors Without Borders has branches all over the world. As long as the place you’re donating to is officially connected to the parent organization on our list, it’s fine.
  • You’re obligated to pay the USD amount that was your winning bid, no matter which currency you use to make your donation. You can check currency conversion rates here.  

DONATION SUBMISSIONS:

There are two forms for submitting your proof of donation to us. If you’re a solo winner of one or more auctions, please fill out our Solo Donation Form. If you’re an organizer of a pod bid and you’re submitting your pod’s receipts, please fill out the Pod Bid Donation Form. If there isn’t enough space on either form for all your information, you may fill out each form as many times as is necessary.

SOLO WINS:

What you’ll need:

  1. a screenshot, image, or PDF copy of your donation receipt that includes the date, donation amount, and organization name (personal info such as your name, address, and bank account/credit card number can be redacted). A screenshot of bank transfer details with redacted personal information is allowed as well.
  2. the auction number and creator name that each donation is for (e.g., 1234 – FestiveFerret)
  3. the username and email you bid under
  • If you’re donating to multiple charities for a single auction, the total must match or exceed your winning bid. Please attach all relevant receipts to your form. You may include multiple lines for the same auction if your donation was split among multiple charities.
  • If you won more than one auction and want to make one donation for the cumulative amount, you’ll only need to attach the receipt once, but be sure to include a line for each auction in the Donations section.
  • If part of any of your receipts are for a pod bid, please indicate that in the Pod Bid Donations section. You can elaborate in the Additional Information section if necessary.
  • If there’s anything we may need to know in order to process your donations, please include it in the Additional Information section. This includes if you made any extra donations that aren’t matched to an auction but are included in your receipts.

POD BIDS:

What you’ll need:

  1. a screenshot, image, or PDF copy of EACH donation receipt included in your pod that includes the date, donation amount, and organization name (personal info such as your name, address, and bank account/credit card number can be redacted). A screenshot of bank transfer details with redacted personal information is allowed as well.
  2. the auction number and creator name that your pod was for (e.g., 1234 – FestiveFerret).
  3. the username and email you bid under
  • The pod organizer is responsible for collecting and sending us ALL the receipts that contribute to the pod’s winning total in one submission. They should summarize what each receipt is for and how much is going towards the pod bid. If there are more than eight contributors or more than eight receipts to attach, submit the form and then fill out the form again for the same auction with the rest of the contributors/receipts. 
  • If you won any solo auctions in addition to your pod bid, please complete the separate Solo Donation Form for your solo wins.
