- Work Description:
- I am offering a modern style Hand-Quilted Stucky Quilt! This will be a throw-size quilt, approximately 65”x65”. Design is set (limited customization available). You can view the previous finished version of this quilt here.
Design Details:
Design and color palette inspired by Captain America Civil War. Plum/burgundy colors for the primary fabric – matching Bucky’s shirt (and Bucky just wanted to buy some plums dang it). Grey for the star, representing both Bucky’s arm and the star on Steve’s chest. Blue stitching inside the star for Steve’s suit, brown stitching for the rest of the quilt as a nod to Bucky’s hoodie and Steve’s leather gloves.
The blue stitching will echo the shape of the star, the brown quilting will be done in “Baptist Fan” Style. This feels appropriate on several levels – historicallly a utilitarian design (perfect for our scrappy boys), it’s also reminiscent of the patterns on Bucky’s arm as well as the concentric circles of the shield.
DESIGN CHANGES FOR 2026:
This quilt will NOT be identical to the previous version (linked above). I am making some changes for 2026! The star will be a darker grey fabric, to prevent the risk of color bleed (red tones love to bleed). I will also be adding additional quilting to the star (in a grey to blend with the fabric), just for better stability/longevity. The back of the quilt will likely be gray fabrics that will coordinate well with the quilt as a whole.

Things Of Note:
My quilting style is non-traditional and scrappy! I use vintage/recycled/second hand fabrics and am big on “no waste” – this means that plenty of the fabric being used is not new/flawless – something I think Steve and Bucky would approve of. I am not a precision quilter – if you are looking for perfect corners and are busting out a ruler this may not be the quilt for you.
Also for the record – I have a dog! I try to keep him away from fabric, but if you are very very allergic just know this is a risk. You can see examples of other creative quilts I’ve made here to get a sense of my style.
Bidding Amounts:
Bidding starts at $200.
If bidding goes over $500 the winner may have input when there are decisions to be made (backing fabric color, binding color), at the creators discretion.
$500+ and you may also name the quilt (within a reasonable character limit) to be stitched to the back! (ie: til the end of the line, Stucky Forever, a soft epilogue, etc)
Shipping:
I’m in the USA and am happy to ship anywhere I am legally capable of shipping to. I will pay shipping up to $100. This seems perfectly reasonable to me but who knows what tariffs could bring. If not in the US there could be fees at customs and the winner should be prepared to pay those. I am happy to reimburse if I am able. If costs seem like they will be astronomical we can discuss how to proceed. The world needs more quilts and I will do just about anything within my means to get it to you!
